Mynock Clan:
Newbies, welcome to Mynock Clan, one of the four newbie Clans through the Clan Creche forum training system. In this forum, members will try to learn about how to reply and start threads in the Cafe Community forums here on Pit Droid Cafe. In order to achieve a greater knowledge of these boards and how to become established posters, Mynock Clan members will have to be able to grasp the kinds of things that will appear in these forums, and what kinds of answers/threads are appropriate. Also, they will learn the Forum Rules and what kinds of things are not allowed, such as spam, flaming, etc.
Members of Mynock Clan, Please Read This:
It is time for you to learn what the Staff and your peers expect you to learn during your time in the Clan.
Expectations:
- We expect you to follow the Rules of not only the forums, but of your Clan as well.
- We expect you to be able to understand the Cafe Community forums and be able to use them through your Clan training.
- We expect that you always try to do your best on tasks, because the Staff/your Clan overseers are trying to teach you how to use an Internet forum board, which can get very confusing to new people. So, listen up; you can learn some things by listening to those who are familiar with the board system.
The Forum:
This board is meant specifically for Mynock Clan, and may not be used by members of any other Clan. If you have a friend in another Clan, they are not allowed to post in the is Clan's board, and youa re not allowed to post on that Clan's board. This makes sure that the Clans can teach their members how to "specialize" in a few boards, even if they want to branch out to other forums later on.
What is an Overseer?
An overseer is a Staff member/esteemed forum member who has volunteered to take the helm of a newbie Clan. They want to see the Clan succeed, and will also be in charge of newbie training for that Clan. They have the power to assign Clan-wide tasks, and also will moderate the Clan board. They are there to help you, newbies, and will help you if you get stuck.
What You CAN Do in the Mynock Clan Board:
- Practice opening topics and replying to threads.
- Vote in Polls, created by either the overseer(s) or other Clan members.
- Be friendly and sociable to other Clan members, and help them out if they need assistance.
- Learn the rules of the representative forums, and understand what is allowed in each one and what is not.
- Learn the rules of the forums in general, and become a respected poster.
What You CAN'T Do in the Mynock Clan Board:
- Bait/flame/taunt other Clan members. This is frowned upon, and will be followed up by administrative action (such as suspensions, expulsion from the Clan, or a ban).
- Be disruptive in the Clan board.
- Post topics/polls/reply messages that are outside the realm of the Clan board. In other words, do not post a poll/thread that talks about what other Clan members think about Bantha Clan, for example. Any offending threads/polls will be locked, and the offending person shall be warned/subject to administrative action.
The End of Training:
After about a month or so (on average), a newbie will clear the tasks that they were assigned/judged by the overseer to be worthy of moving on, and will "graduate" from Mynock Clan. In "Clan Graduation", all members that have met either or both of the objectives listed above will "graduate" from the Clan and become a trained-poster. Through the training, a graduate should be able to know the rules of the forums and be able to follow them at all times. After graduation, the graduates will have their usernames removed from the Official Clan Roster.
However, once one is no longer a member of a Clan, THEY MAY NOT POST IN THEIR OLD CLAN'S BOARD. Since graduates are no longer members of the Clan, they are not allowed to post in the Clan-member-only board anymore. Any violation will be subject to administrative action.
That's what Mynock Clan is all about. By providing newbies a place to go and learn about the forums not only represented by the different Clans but the entire site, they will be encouraged to be good posters and to follow the rules at all times along with having fun talking with their friends and posting in the many forums that Pit Droid Cafe has to offer.
