| This thread is like the other characterization threads; it is a place to discuss aspects about things. However, instead of focusing on a single character, it will be on a planet. Aspects of the planet and its role in the CT can be discussed, and the planets will change once in a while. You can add small EU references to this thread, but please don't use too much outside-the-Saga information. | |

| It also had a big slug, and a crab. I never really got the crab. | |

| So, what makes Tatooine so memorable as a SW location? | |

| It's the first planet that you actually see from on planet. It also has the first non-human species ever seen in the entire saga. | |

| And Anakin and Luke are both from there. In case anyone forgot that. Pretty much the super-major planet in Star Wars, even if it's not the most important in the galaxy. I mean, it's not Coruscant or anything. | |

| Coruscant wasn't even in the OT, so its importance is almost zilch. Tatooine appears in all but ESB. | |

| Although Tatooine is such a desolate planet, it certainly is important in the story arc. | |

| Weird, how all the boring places are the ones that get action and recognition. | |

| Well, there isn't much action on Tatooine. It's more of an acting planet instead of an action one in the films. | |

| It gets a lot of the emotional action of the story. Like when Anakin kills all the Sand People, and Luke finds Beru and Owen killed. There's also Leia in a bikini, that seems to attract the guys to Tatooine, but... I don't quite know where I was going with this.... | |

| Emotional action yes, but not a lot of real "action". | |

| Yeah, but Star Wars isn't really an action film in the truest sense. It's an epic. Therefore, there shouldn't be action in every single scene. | |

| I didn't say that SW was an "all-action" movie; I just wanted to say that a lot of the tense action does not happen on Tatooine. | |
