| Ok, so we all know that Anakin Skywalker was supposed to be the "Chosen One" and bring balance to the Force. The Jedi believed that he would help destroy the Sith, although it wasn't too much earlier that they had believed the Sith to be extinct, and Darth Sidious believed that he could gain ultimate power by bringing Anakin over to his side.
So, the question is this: did Anakin fulfill the prophecy and bring balance to the Force? Was he destined to turn to the dark Side, no matter how many good things he did? Did he finish the prophecy in the end by "destroying the Sith"?

| Well, he kinda did freakishly destroy it, but in the end he killed Sidious, and he did in a way destroy the Sith. According to Yoda, there can only be two Sith at one time. Anakin killed Sidious, and when he did so, Darth Vader was killed. So he did fulfill the prophecy at least. | |

| The way I see it, he couldn't die until he did fulfill the Prophecy, which in my opinion, really sucked. But then, I'm a self confessed Anakin hater, so who am I to say anything. The only horribly bad thing that happened was the fact that Obi-Wan died before Anakin. It would have been real poetic justice to have them die at the same time, or something... | |

| It's common for people to believe that Anakin brought balance to the Force by helping destroy virtually the entire Jedi Order, and then did the same thing to the Sith later on. Do you think that this was due to his own actions or to the prophecy? | |

| Personally, I think Anakin did complete the prophecy, just not in an expected way. My theory is that the inbalance in the force was due to the jedi code itself. The rule on no attachments would make the numbers of force sensitives in the galaxy to dwindle. So when Anakin destroyed the jedi, the emperor wiped any information of the jedi from record. When Luke started up the order again he had no idea what the old order did. Thus, limiting the chances that it would happen again. I don't know if it makes sense to anyone else... | |

| That's a really interesting theory. Can't say I've really thought of it like that before.
I've also heard the theory that because he could never find balance within himself and with his own emotions, he couldn't bring balance to the Force. It was only when he finally did find that balance, by getting rid of Sidious influence, that he was able to bring balance to the Force. | |
